本文吸收西方“丁玲学”研究的重要成果,但与其进行对话与质疑,提出关于丁玲早期作品两个重要的新观点:作者的《梦珂》《莎菲女士的日记》并非目前学界通常所认为的是表达“五四”时期争取个性解放的努力和挫折的“新女性”的“启蒙”式话语;而是一种已经有条件满足“性解放”需求的“后五四”的市民对于其“市民阶级”身份无法有效建立的苦闷,而此后作者力图打破这一困境而创作的“革命加恋爱”小说系列,也并非目前学界一般认为的是作家靠近革命队伍的(不成功)尝试,而仍然是作者在市民阶层立场和角度上,出于空虚而观察其时流行的“革命”潮流的浅层涉猎之作。
