Desalotinone and pregnenolone are two newly synthesized progestins that to some extent minimize the incidence of spotting and vaginal bleeding during the common side-effects of oral contraceptives (OC). To assess these effects, the authors analyzed data from two large, randomized, multicenter clinical trials including 2721 women with 15,421 cycles.
