方志敏在狱中文稿《我从事革命斗争的略述》一文中写道:“肺病是我青年时期最凶恶的敌人,它损害了我的健康,大大的妨碍了我的学习,我的工作!”“我相信,我若不患这可怕的肺病,在马克思列宁主义的学习和研究上,决不会如此的无成就;对于革命工作,也会有更多的努力和贡献。”万虑丛集,患上肺结核方志敏,1899年8月21日出生在江西弋阳九区漆工镇湖塘村一个农户家,17岁时考入了弋阳县立高等小学校。在那里,方志敏眼界大开,思想活跃,爱思考,好提问,每门功课成绩都名列前茅,经常受到老师的称赞,成为同学喜爱的中心人物。
