在政治和资本的罗网和历史的重负下,艺术还能有何作为?每个生命从个体角度都有激发、生长的过程,无奈放置在大文化的背景下,个体的作为都潜伏着宿命的阴影。国际化这个宿梦通过时间的积累会被年轻一代轻松实现。流利的英语、国外教育、问题意识、国际视野等这些条件假以时日都能实现;但是否能获得平等的对话空间,构建新的文化格局,不知还要几代人的努力。从各方面讲,热爱思考,动手能力强的刘辛夷是个值得期待的年轻人,对于中西文化背景和全球化种种议题的浓厚兴趣,特别的幽默感和举重若轻的视角选择,都让人印象深刻。难得的是,刘辛夷写得一手好文章,理论基础在创作者里也很突出,他总让我想起—个语义早已发生扭曲的词——“精英”。
Under the network of politics and capital and the heavy burden of history, what can art do? Each life has the process of stimulating and growing from an individual point of view. It is helpless to place it in the context of a large culture, where individual acts lurk fate shadow. Internationalization of this dream through the accumulation of time will be easily achieved by the younger generation. Fluency in English, education abroad, problem awareness and international vision can all be achieved in the short period of time. However, whether we can obtain equal space for dialogue and build a new cultural pattern is unknown to generations of hard work. In all respects, Liu Xinyi, who is passionate about thinking and practicing, is an exciting young man who is deeply impressed by the rich interest in Chinese and Western cultures and issues of globalization, with his special sense of humor and ease of choice. What is rare is that Liu Xinyi has written a good essay and the theoretical basis is also prominent among creators. He always reminds me of a word that has distorted semantics --- “elite”.
