Liu Zhiji’s “Shi Tong” is China’s first systematic monograph of historical studies. His predecessors fully expounded his historiographical value. The author read “Shi Tong” carefully and deeply understand the principles and ideas of some specific historical criticisms elaborated by Liu Zhizhi.
