《上海师范大学学报》1989年第4期发表了王海龙《关于戏剧起源和流变的人类学考察》一文。作者扩大视界,宏观考察,从人类史前文化和民俗文化的研究入手,力图用比较文化学和人类学的观念去回答和解决:戏剧究竟起源于何时,引发它起源的直接诱因是什么?戏剧的发展与人类原始文化的关系如何?戏剧与宗教的关系怎样?今天西方的戏剧是源于古希腊的传统还是中世纪宗教剧基础?各国戏剧发展史上为什么经历了几乎类同的断裂和再造过程?中国的戏剧是否晚出;如不晚出,为什么又有那么多执拗的权威理论认定?等命题。文中说:

Is the Western drama originated from the ancient Greek tradition or the foundation of medieval religious drama? Why are the similarities and differences in the history of dramatic development in different countries broken through and rebuilt?
