美术编辑业余作画,为社会多做贡献,有人说是借以遣兴。朱秀坤画了这么多花鸟虫鱼,是不是为遣兴呢?也可以说是的吧！但是我感到他的做画与地从事的出版事业有更直接的联系。工笔花鸟是他的本行专业。1965年他考上中央工艺美术学院,受前辈俞致贞指导。毕业后,一直在安徽做美术出版工作,直到现在担负社长兼总编的重任。
