Margaret Wilcox 夫人曾在中国任教,去年返归故里澳大利亚。在中国的日日夜夜给她留下了难以忘怀的印象。回国之后不久她就给本刊来信,叙说她对中国的怀念之情。她在信中不无幽默地写道:My young son says to his friends regarding my enthusiasm for Chi—na—“You can take the girl out of China.but you can’t take Chinaout of the girl!!”And that’s very true.本文是她随信寄来的中国情思录。antipodes 指地球上处在东西或南北半球上遥相对峙的两个地区。常用来指地处南半球与北半球欧亚大陆相对的澳洲。作者在文中既指澳大利亚,也指与之遥遥相对的中国。
Mrs. Margaret Wilcox has taught in China and returned to her native Australia last year. In China day and night left her an unforgettable impression. Shortly after returning home, she wrote a letter to her about her feelings about China. She writes in humor without humor: My young son says to his friends regarding my enthusiasm for Chi-na - “You can take the girl out of China. But you can not take Chinaout of the girl !! ”And that’s very true. This is her letter from China. Antipodes refers to two areas on the Earth that are remotely located opposite each other or between the northern and southern hemispheres. Commonly used to mean located in the southern hemisphere and the Eurasian continent, the opposite of Australia. In the article, the author refers to both Australia and China, which is far away from it.
