让我们先简单地认识一下调制解调器:MODEM是数据通信与计算机结合的重要设备之一。它分为内置式、外置式和机架式三种,内置式是插入计算机扩展槽内的一块卡,速率相对较低,端口的设置比较麻烦,其功能也相对简单。但随着技术的发展,内置式的MODEM的速度和功能基本可以与外置式相媲美,而且价钱相对于外置式来说大概要便宜100多块钱;机架式是专门为邮电及其它大量使用MODEM的单位设计的;外置式是最常见、使用较广泛、配置较齐全的一种类型。它使用方便,设置简单,功能齐全,比较适合一些初学者使用。
