The idea of the integration of “human” and “nature” originated in China 2500 years ago. On the contrary, Westerners regard the “God Creator” as taking over the natural use. Therefore, different concepts were expressed in their garden design and artistic ideas. For centuries, Japan and China have gone hand in hand in the same field. By the 13th century, the Mongol Empire opened up exchanges between the East and the West. Marco Polo brought Eastern science and art to Europe and promoted the Renaissance movement. In the seventeenth century, the Portuguese raised seafaring, and the navigators in various countries poured their ideas of oriental gardens into Europe to form a great tide. It evoked the understanding of nature in France and Britain and led to the emergence of the British natural school. The naturalistic school movement was extended to the United States to make the national park movement flourish, thus making gardening a specialty.
