江苏省的滆湖地跨武进、宜兴两县(市),总面积24.6万亩.1985年,全湖渔业总产量246.9万公斤.“七五”期间.由江苏省水产局主持,组织了省淡水厅等6个单位,共同承担“滆湖水产增养殖技术研究”科技攻关项目.1990年的渔业总产量提高到776.96万公斤,与项目实施前的1985年比较,亩产量由10公斤提高到31.58公斤;渔业产值由807.8万元上升到5451.62万元.五年累计提供商品鱼
