一九八Ｏ年日记内容提要 （一）与病友孙冶方、阳翰笙在协和医院病房共度新年和春节。看了些作品。因肠癌住院一年多，经过两次大手术。二月底出院回到崇文门新居。周扬说：“病好了，真是一个奇迹！”翰老说：“是一大胜利！” （二）三月八日李季逝世。只得提前投入他遗留下来的短篇小说评选工作，为此补看一批作品，并勉力填补他担任的《人民文学）主编工作。 （三）根据我的提议，下半年从《人民文学》抽调力量筹办《小说选刊》。请茅盾写发刊词并题写刊名。看了创刊号全部校样。 （四）十月、十一月间，多次参加由周扬主持的老同志谈心会。夏衍、默涵、白羽、荒煤、冯牧、敬之、张僖等同志经常参加。同志间坦率陈述在文艺工作上的意见分歧，也解除了一些误会。讨论了文联、作协体制改革等问题。 （五）参加《建国以来党的若干历史问题的决议》的学习和讨论，看了几百份各方面讨论的简报。对讨论稿提出自己的书面意见。 （六）抽暇重编论文集旧稿《风雨文谈》。
