This chapter in the Chinese Mathematical Dictionary is a very brief outline of the basic findings in mathematics from the seventh century BC to the end of the nineteenth century AD. The chapters in this chapter deal with mathematics in ancient Greece, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, respectively; the history of mathematics in China and Japan is not included, and this outline includes the life of some great mathematicians And much knowledge of achievement, the narration generally reports on the individual or individual of that or that mathematician, though sometimes it contains a brief description of the general characteristics of the direction of science.
