攀枝花市自2001年7月正式启动城镇职工基本医疗保险制度以来,通过建立灵活就业人员医疗保险、开展农民工医疗保险、推行居民医疗保险试点工作,建立大病补充医疗保险、探索城乡一体化医疗保障制度建设,目前已初步形成了以基本医疗保险为基础,补充医疗保险为辅助的多层次的医疗保障体系,对保障职工群众身体健康、促进改革发展和社会稳定和谐发挥了重要的积极作用。截至2008年12月,全市城镇职工医疗保险参保人数37.83万人,其中农民工参保3.53万人;城镇居民基本医疗保险参保人数16.07万人。
