In recent years, various transport and communications departments have done a great deal of work in reforming their systems, organizing production, tapuring the potentials, reorganizing their technologies, expanding their capabilities and rectifying their businesses, and achieved remarkable results. The volume of passenger and freight transport and post and telecommunications services continued to grow in successive years and the major indicators of the “6th Five-Year Plan” were completed one year in advance. The average annual increase of railway freight transport is 38 million tons and that of passenger transport is increased by 40 million. The average passenger transport for roads is increased by 430 million annually. The average passenger air transport for civil aviation is increased by 820,000 per year.
