BPR (Business Process Reengineering) and TQM (Total Quality Management) originate from the traditional development of business processes, starting with Taylor, the father of scientific management. Now, BPR and TQM have become the most common management tools in process improvement. However, because BPR pays attention to the fundamental rethinking of the business process and the fundamentals of thorough redesign, it is inconsistent with the traditional TQM’s theory of progressive and gradual improvement. Both of them have made great strides in academic circles. Big disputes. This article first summarizes the characteristics of BPR and TQM, and then compares and analyzes their respective deficiencies. The purpose is to make people have a more profound understanding of BPR and TQM.
