The introduction of enterprise social media in companies enables a new method ofcommunication among employees.Social media has a reputation for distracting employees butwhen used properly, it can actually have the opposite effect.It allow for improvedcommunication between an employer and its employees, as well as employees and their co-workers and even customers.This paper outlines how the employees use the enterprise socialmedia in the work place to improve their work performance.It defines the key variables and usedRed Robin Company as a case.Data was collected from the employees of Red Robin Companyand was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).The results of thesurvey clearly shows that an increase in mastery-intrinsic, performance-intrinsic and subjectivenorm also increases the behavior intention that is the attitude of an employee will be positivetowards the use of enterprise social media.Finally, our results not only shows that enterprisesocial media, in this case Yammer is not simply a waste of time for employees, but they alsosignificantly and positively impact the employees performance.These results build on thepotential of enterprise social media as a medium for improving collaboration and knowledgesharing, thereby increasing productivity among employees.
