  A novel analytical thermal model is established to investigate the thermal effects on the workpiece during ultraprecision grinding process.The steady state temperature distributions are obtained.The different heat source models are utilized to simulate the diverse ultraprecision grinding conditions,and the effect of the parameters of the heat source on the temperature distribution is studied.The novel thermal model and analysis results are instructive for guarantee the surface quality during ultraprecision grinding process.
