Aim: Notoginsenoside R1 (NGR1), a novel Nrf2 activator, is a major saponin isolated from Panax notoginseng.Although NGR1 has many pharmacological effects including anti-oxidative, anti-apoptotic and neuroprotective properties, little is known about the underlying mechanism.In this study, for the first time, we clearly show that NGR1 has protective effects against H2O2-induced cytotoxicity in PC12 cells.
