本文新种德氏光滑瓷蟹Lissoporcellana demani n.sp.采自南海北部湾海域,他与四叶光滑瓷蟹L.quadrilobata (Miers,1884)和海鞭光滑瓷蟹L.flagellicola Osawa&Fujita,2005形态相似,但区别于后两者在于额中叶稍短,前缘中间缺刻浅而不明显;头胸甲侧缘具有两枚刺;步足长节后缘末角钝,不突出.
