Glycosylation of protein plays a crucial role in many physiological functions and biological pathways. An incorrect glycosylation of protein is reported to associate with various types of human diseases including mammalian diseases, immune deficiencies, and neurodegenerative diseases. While identifying glycoproteins as potential biomarkers of diseases is an important task, there are some formidable challenges when analyzing glycoproteins from biological samples.Even though only a trace amount of glycoproteins is found in the biological samples, they are related to many types of disease. Therefore, the enrichment of glycoproteome is very critical in the discovery of biomarkers.
