Incontinence,both urinary and faecal,is increasingly prevalent as people get older.Age-related changes in the lower urinary tract and bowel may predispose to incontinence.However,incontinence is not regarded as a normal part of ageing and the response to interventions in the healthy elderly is similar to that in younger people.
