Increasing demand,fluctuating prices,coupled with decreasing supply and energy security concerns,have led to renewed interest in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) research.Cobalt catalysts are preferred for FTS due to their high stability,high productivity and selectivity for heavy hydrocarbons,low activity in the water-gas shift reaction and lower price compared to noble metals.
