The dependence of health care services on technology for the delivery of it services has grown continuously over time.Some are more than others, but there is no medical or surgical program that can deliver its service without the use of technology.It is therefore important that technology management programs are implemented to ensure that patient care services are delivered with maximum safety and optimal quality.The Institute Of Medicine (http:// www.iom.edu/?id=12736) in its 2001 report Crossing the Quality Chasm: A New Health System for the 21st Century made an urgent call for fundamental change to close the quality gap and recommended a redesign of the American health care system.
