Translational Informatics for Precision Healthcare Challenges and Opportunities

  With the advances of high throughput sequencing technology and precision medicine,precision healthcare will become next frontier both for scientific research and economic development.The ear of aging is approaching and the P4 medicine (predictive,preventive,personalized and participatory) paradigm becomes practical and reality.According to the Kondratievs long wave theory,the information technology based healthcare will become one of the technological revolution for the new economic cycle.We will face many challenges,also opportunities for the transformation of biomedical data to the precision healthcare,such as,data analysis to identify genetic risk factors for complex diseases,the application of imaging data to the healthcare monitoring;the lifestyles and nutritional genomics for improvement of health,the systems biological model for healthcare.The standardization and privacy of personal data are also one of the most important issues.I will discuss these challenges and opportunities in my presentation.
