Mn doped ZnO nanorod/wires and well-defined uniform octahedral WO3 are prepared via a simple one-step thermal plasma technique.The detailed structures of the synthesized materials are characterized by XRD,EDX,FESEM,SAED and HRTEM.Photocatalytic activities are evaluated through the photo degradation of aqueous methylene blue (MB).Mn doping is found to be an effective way to reduce the speed of ZnO growing along (001) direction.As a result,the length/diameter ratio of ZnO nanorod/wires decreases while the atomic ratio of Mn doping increases.
