The radiation pressure acceleration of protons in the interaction of Gaussian laser pulses and pre-rippling targets is examined by 2D and 3D particle-in-cell simulations.Strong longitudinal quasi-static magnetic field is observed on the rippling surface of the target. The longitudinal magnetic field can enhance the transverse diffusion of electrons, which helps to suppress the transverse instability Rayleigh-Taylor-like instability. It is shown that the maximum proton energy is improved by using the pre-rippling targets.
