Human Cripto-1 is a cell surface protein belonging to the EGF-Cripto-FRL-1-Cryptic (EGF-CFC) gene family that has been shown to play key roles in embryonic development and in tumor progression.CRIPTO-1 antibodies have been classified into 4 groups according to their ability to recognize different domains of the Cripto-1 protein in an ELISA assay: (1) N-terminal tip, (2) N-terminal, (3) EGF domain and (4) CFC domain.
