Background T-wave inversions are one of the major electrocardiographic abnormalities in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM),and it has been reported that T-wave inversions may represent the first and only sign of an inherited heart muscle disease such as HCM,in the absence of any other features and before structural changes in the heart can be detected.However,to date,the mechanisms of this ECG pattern in HCM still remain unclear.Hence,our aim was to investigate the relationship between T-wave inversions and left ventricular (LV) segmental hypertrophy and myocardial fibrosis assessed by cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in patients with non-apical HCM.
