In this invited talk,we will briefly report recent studies on the gain in the whispering-gallery mode mocrocavities.We explain the dynamic Fano-like resonances in the scanning spectrum of erbium-doped whispering-gallery-mode microresonators using a model in which the gain is no longer a constant,and show that the shape of scanning spectrum depends on the probing laser power,the pump laser power and the scan speed [1].
