ultra-fine borides(ZrB2,TiB2,(Zr,50 vol%Ti)B2)grains dispersed B4C matrix composites were prepared by pulsed electric current sintering of B4C,ZrO2,TiO2 and carbon black starting powder mixtures in vacuum at 2000℃.Full densification was obtained when applying an optimized synthesizing and sintering cycle in which the maximum pressure of 30 Mpa was applied after completion of the in-situ powder synthesis,allowing degassing of volatile species.
