The signal transduction for detecting toxic metal ions has been a significant issue in fields as diverse as chemistry, biology,environmental and material sciences.Among the numerous detection methods, cyclometallated Ir(Ⅲ) complex-based phosphorescent sensors are considered to be excellent phosphorescent materials for bioimaging, which may be discriminated readily from the shorter-lived background fluorescence and permit the implementation of time-gated techniques.
