Nitrate pollution sources of river have always been the focus of attention. In this study, the nitrate nitrogen isotopic compositions of the main water pollution sources were investigated along the Fenghe River Basin, and also the concentrations and δ15N-NO3 values of water nitrate from Fenghe River were measured. Then the potential sources of the nitrate pollution at different seasons were analyzed. Some results have been concluded: In low-water period, the water nitrate pollution is less upstream, and the nitrate pollution sources downstream are mainly from rural sewage and agricultural drainage; In high-water period, the δ15N-NO3 values of upstream water are positive significantly, indicating frequent tourism activities and the sewage discharge for the"agritainmen"upstream; In the upper-middle reaches, the nitrate pollution comes mainly from the sewage with high δ15N-NO3 values (such as the treated sewage from colleges); And in the middle-lower reaches, contributions of the sewage with low δ15N-NO3 values (such as rural sewage) and the agricultural non-point source pollution increase.
