En bloc resection and prosthetic replacement are the common methods to treat the malignant bone tumor. However, the bacterial infection and bone tumor metastasis may cause the recurrence of orthopedic implants. In this paper,a novel coating on the surface of Ti-based bone implants was developed for restraining osteosarcoma(MG-63 cells)and inhibiting bacteria infection. The dopamine(DA)-modified hyaluronic acid(HA)(designed as HA-DA)was first synthesized and deposited on the corroded Ti substrates to form Ti/HA-DA,then both methotrexate(MTX)and gentamicin(GM)-loading chitosan nanoparticles(designed as CS@MTX+GM NPs)prepared by ionic crosslinking method were electrostatically immobilized onto the surface of Ti/HA-DA(designed as Ti/HA-DA/CS@MTX+GM NPs).
