New Era of Sheep Breeding: From Genomic Selection to Genome Editing Genetic selection(GS) has long been an essential strategy for animal breeding. However, because of constrains of low efficiency and lack of enough genetic markers, very few genetic improvements have been concurrently gained in some species.Though whole genome selection has now been achieving substantial performance in dairy cattle, it is not applied successfully in many other farm animals, for instance sheep and beef.
