The actinomycete strain Thermobifida halotolerance YIM 90462T presents an outstanding capability of (hemi)cellulolytic decomposition.In this study,a xylanase was purified to homogeneity from the fermentation broth by centrifugation,ultrafiltration,ammonium sulfate precipitation,hydrophobic chromatography and ion exchange chromatography.Studies on properties of xylanase from T.halotolerans YIM 90462T indicated that the optimum temperature and pH of the enzyme reaction was 70 ℃ and pH 6.0,respectively.
