Endophytes are relatively untapped sources of novel natural products.Actinobacteria also exist as endophytes within the living in plant tissues,where they do not harm the host nor develop external structures of native plants.Endophytic actinobacteria are also a promising source of biocontrol agents,by acting directly on fungal cell walls or initiating increased plant responses against disease.
