Effect of micro-alloying of transition elements in the near eutectic Al-Si-Mg base alloy on dynamic precipitation of Mg2Si phase during hot-rolling and its impact to mechanical properties were investigated by XRD analysis on Al (111)and (200) peaks and Mg2Si peak and SEM microstructure observation and tensile test.Compared with the base alloy, addition of transition elements of Ti, Zr or V in the base alloy considerably supresses the dynamic precipitation of Mg2Si phase during hot-rolling, among which, the effect of V is most significant.
