Background:Planting of GMOs is widespread.The number of commercialized GMOs is being increased sharply in recent years.It is urgently required to monitor the GMOs events and elements at an accurate,economic,fast and high-throughput manner.Methods:To monitor most of the GMO events and elements in one test,weve adopted the MPH&HPM technique (Multiplex PCR on a Hydrophobically and Hydrophilically Patterned Microarray) for amplifying ~100 GMOs events and elements in a single PCR reaction.Briefly,on such an array,primer pairs tagged with a universal sequence were physically separated in individual hydrophilic microwells on an otherwise hydrophobic chip,enabling many unique PCR reactions to be proceeded simultaneously during the first step of the procedure,thus settling the bottleneck of conventional multiplex PCR of PCR bias and non-specific amplification due to interference and competition among primer pairs.
