　　Background: Sam68 (Src-associated in mitosis, 68 kDa), a KH domain RNA binding protein, has been postulated to play a role in RNA metabolism, including alternative splicing and polysomal recruitment of mRNAs.The Sam68 protein regulate alternative splicing by binding to A/U rich sequences surrounding target exons and affecting the interaction of the splicing machinery.
