  Background: The ribosomal protein L9 (RPL9) a component of the large subunit of the ribosome, has an unusual structure.The RPL9 may associate to the fat deposition and can affect the quality of meat.The aims of this study are to clone RPL9 of sus scrofa and analyze the structure and function of its encoding protein..Methods: According to the RPL9 gene sequence from genebank, primers were designer to clone the RPL9.Bioinformatics analysis of RPL9 and its encoding animo acid sequence was performed through resources and some softwares.Results: The RPL9 was cloned and the structure and function of the RPL9 were predicted.Conculsion: The RPL9 gene has been cloned successfully and lay the further foundation for studying function of RPL9 gene.
