Under external stimuli,the physical properties of some polymers will undergo a sharp transition in solution.These polymers are called environmental responsive polymers.For example,the transmittance of a poly(N-isopropyl-acrylamide) (PNIPAM) aqueous solution will have a critical and reversib le change during the heating-cooling cycle.
