Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (HUMSCs) are good candidates for tissue engineering.Here we explored their biological features and differentiation capability.The cell surface marker, cell cycle, telomerase activity, telomere length, Immunofeatures, methylation status and proliferation ability were measured.HUMSCs expanded in vitro showed a high expression of MSC markers,but the telomerase activity was undetected and the telomere length got shortened during passage.
