Objective of this research is to apply a feasible study and experiments on deploying location-aware digital signage system and surrounding environmental information expression method utilizing Global Navigation Satellite Systems / Cellular Network (GNSS/CN) technology.The GNSS/CN system has precise positioning function and real-time recognition of position makes it possible to detect "at the right place" without delay.To confirm the feasibility of location-aware digital signage in time in position and the potential for a service platform with GNSS/CN technologies, we designed and implemented location-aware digital signage system "CITIUS: Communication Infrastructure of Transport Information for Universal Service" as a prototype.We have conducted the real field experiment on the shuttle buses of the National University of Singapore (NUS).The result of this experiment shows the prototype is efficient enough for real deploys in various places and GNSS/CN based OBU has a high potential for the applicability on a wide variety of services due to detection of the valuable information.
