　　We present the discontinuous Galerkin(DG)finite element methods for partial differential equations of elliptic and hyperbolic types.We first talk about convergence of the method for diffusion problems.Then,we focus on the DG method for the compressible Euler equations with some new ingredients to make it more attractive.
