THE STUDY ON LOCAL UNIFORM CORROSION DAMAGE IDENTIFICATION OF STEEL PIPELINE BASED ON PIEZOELECTRIC

  The experimental component of steel pipeline have been designed and manufactured.By gradually reducing the length, width and thickness of local pipeline unit, the processes of locally uniform corrosion on pipeline are simulated.An experiment has been done to identify locally uniform corrosion on pipeline based on piezoelectric impedance.PZT impedance Spectroscopy curve of piezoelectric ceramic is showed in different damage conditions.According to the experiment data, four types of statistics damage metrics: Root Mean Square Deviation(RMSD), Mean Absolute Percentage Deviation(MAPD), Covariance(Cov) and Correlation Coefficient(CC) are introduced to analyze corrosion damage degree and the change rules of statistics characteristic indices.The experimental results show: With the aggravation of local uniform corrosion damage degree, piezoelectric admittance curve gradually shifts to the left obviously, and corresponding peak frequency decreases.The variation is more significant in the higher frequency range.The higher frequency is, the more sensitive is to initial damage.Statistics characteristic indices such as RMSD and Cov can effectively judge the local uniform corrosion damage of pipeline.
