Au nanorods @ Pt nanodots core/shell nanostructures,prepared by the Au nanorods-mediated growth,shows high surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)activity.Boosted by the long-range effect of the enhanced electromagnetic(EM)field generated by the highly SERS-active Au core,the SERS activities can be adjusted by changing the shell structure and thickness.The finite difference time domain(FDTD)method was employed to simulate the shell structure dependent SERS activity.
