Background:The objective of this study was to discover promising biomarkers for buccal squamous cell carcinoma(BSCC)patients arising in the background of oral submucous fibrosis(OSF)by using quantitative proteomics.Materials and Methods: BCSS,OSF,and normal buccal tissue(NBM)were collected for proteomics analysis.Proteins from each group were labelled with isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation(iTRAQ),then analyzed by LC-MS/MS.The evaluation of candidate biomarkers includes Western blotting and immunohistochemistry, then a clinical validation of promising biomarkers in a retrospectively study.
