The widespread distibution of apelin-13 receptors in the brain suggests an important function of this neuropeptide in the central nervous functions.In the present work we report the action of apelin13 on passive avoidance learning and also on anxiety following i.cv.administration.In order to assess the possible involvement of trasmitters in these actions the animals were pretreated with different receptor blockers.The cognitive function of the mice was studied on passive avoidance learning.
