In order to solve the problem of static electricity of polysulfonamide(PSA)yarns yielding in manufacturing process and expand the application of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT),a new approach to create the conductive composite yarns was pointed out that poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)was deposited on the polysulfonamide staple yarns by vapor phase polymerization(VPP).Ferric chloride was used as an initiator.The microstructures,chemical compositions,thermal properties,mechanical properties,electrical conductivity and electrical heating properties of PSA/PEDOT conductive composite yarns were fully characterized,evaluated and examined by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),optional microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),thermogravimetric analysis(TG)and infrared thermal image instrument.The experimental results showed that The optimized process of preparation of PSA/PEDOT conductive composite yarns could be carried out at 80℃ for 10 min with 80g/L ferric(Ⅲ)chloride(FeCl3)oxidant,reaction time l0min and soaking time 60 min,and the mass-specific resistance reached 0.94Ω·g·cm-2.The temperature of PSA/PEDOT conductive composite yarns during the electrically heated process tended to increase as the applied voltage increases.However,with the extension of time the heating temperature of PSA/PEDOT conductive composite yarns increased firstly and then tended to stabilization.The PSA/PEDOT conductive composite yams with different combination structures(linkage,hank,series,parallel)all had excellent electrothermal properties.
